Humans are supposedly all connected. After all, despite being animals, we are intelligent. Rational. Capable of logic thought.
That being said, we come to realize that we are also capable of distinguishing a good action from a bad one. And explain why said action is either right or wrong. Of course, the definition of what's right and wrong may varie from person to person. We have to take in consideration the individuality in every single one of us.
But there are definitions that are global to everyone. We all know that it's wrong to rape someone. Rapers CHOOSE not to care, among other reasons. We all also know it's wrong to murder someone. Murderers CHOOSE not to care, among other reasons.
This brings me to my point in this text: we all know it's wrong to fisically assault someone. Now you might be thinking "well, call me a son of a bitch and i'll smack you in the face". Technically, you're right. Morally, not so. But that's another story. Now, taking in consideration that assaulting someone is wrong, what to say about WATCHING someone being assaulted and DO NOTHING?
Is that being coward? Is that being indifferent? Is that being human?
I could understand the reason why someone would hit someone else. Just like i could understand the reasons a raper or a murderer have to do what they do. But i could never understand how can someone just watch as someone is being attacked, or raped, or killed, or whatever, and simply do nothing about it.
Care to explain?
